Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using payslipiq.co.uk (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms create a legally binding agreement between you and PayslipIQ (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. Description of Service

PayslipIQ provides a free, informational payslip analysis tool for UK employees. The Service allows you to upload a photo of, or enter figures from, a UK payslip and receive an automated analysis comparing your deductions against published HMRC rates and thresholds for the current tax year.

We may also offer paid products (such as the PayslipIQ Pro Report) and affiliate partner placements. Paid products are subject to additional terms presented at point of purchase. Affiliate partner standards are set out in our Advertising and Disclosure Policy.

3. Not Financial, Tax, or Legal Advice

The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. PayslipIQ does not provide financial, tax, legal, accounting, debt, or investment advice. The analysis results are automated estimates based on the data you provide and may not account for all individual circumstances. You should not rely solely on our analysis to make financial or legal decisions. Always consult HMRC, an FCA-authorised adviser, a qualified accountant, or another regulated professional for definitive guidance.

4. Accuracy

While we strive to use accurate and up-to-date HMRC rates and thresholds, we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, currency, or reliability of any analysis results. Tax calculations can be complex and depend on factors that may not be captured by our tool. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate payslip figures when using the analysis tool.
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, scrape, or disrupt the Service or its underlying systems.
  • Not use automated tools, scripts, or bots to make excessive requests to our API or to scrape content.
  • Not upload images that are not your own payslip or that contain information you do not have authority to share.
  • Not use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any third party.

6. Rate Limiting and Fair Use

To ensure fair access and prevent abuse, the analysis tool is limited to a small number of requests per IP per hour. Abusive or automated traffic may be blocked at our sole discretion. We may also impose a global daily ceiling on AI-processing calls; if reached, the Service will display a friendly “come back later” message.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on payslipiq.co.uk, including text, guides, design, branding, code, and the “PayslipIQ” name and logo, is the intellectual property of PayslipIQ or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, transmit, or create derivative works of this content without our prior written permission, except for personal non-commercial reference.

8. User-Submitted Content

You retain ownership of any payslip image or data you submit. By submitting, you grant PayslipIQ a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process the data through our infrastructure and our AI sub-processor (Anthropic Claude) for the sole purpose of returning analysis results to you. We do not retain payslip data on our servers (see our Privacy Policy and Trust Centre).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by English law, PayslipIQ shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any analysis result. This includes, without limitation, financial losses, missed tax refunds, HMRC penalties, employment disputes, lost data, lost profits, or business interruption: even if PayslipIQ has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

10. Availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time without notice. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated where reasonably practicable.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The current version is always available at payslipiq.co.uk/terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them, the Service, or their subject matter or formation are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You and PayslipIQ irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim. Nothing in this clause limits a consumer's statutory rights to bring proceedings in their country of residence.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Advertising and Disclosure Policy, and any product-specific terms presented at purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and PayslipIQ regarding the Service.

15. Contact
