Advertising and disclosure policy

Editorial independence
Editorial content on PaySlipIQ — guides, tax-code explainers, the Anomaly Index — is written without paid influence. No sponsor sees a draft or has approval rights over an editorial page. We will not retract or soften published content under commercial pressure. If a partner asks us to suppress a finding, we will publish that they asked.
How we make money (so far)
- • Free tier — the payslip checker, tax-code checker and document decoders are free. We do not run third-party display advertising on tool pages.
- • PaySlipIQ Pro Report (£19, one-off) — see /pro-report. No subscription, no upsell.
- • Affiliate links — when we recommend a third-party tool (a refund agent, a self-assessment app, a pension consolidator) we may earn a commission if you sign up via our link. We label every such link clearly.
- • Sponsored placements — we may accept a sponsor in clearly-marked positions in result panels (for example a pension consolidator next to a "low pension contribution" flag). Editorial pages will never be sold.
How sponsored content is labelled
Following CAP Code rule 2.1 ("marketing communications must be obviously identifiable as such") and the ASA's Influencer Guidance:
- • Every sponsored placement carries a clear "Sponsored" badge in the same field of vision as the content.
- • Sponsor name is named in plain English at the start of the placement.
- • Outbound paid links carry
rel="sponsored"as required by Google's link-attribute guidance. - • A footer disclosure on every page where sponsored content appears links back to this policy.
How affiliate links are labelled
- • Every affiliate link or block carries a visible disclosure: "PaySlipIQ may earn a commission if you sign up via this link — at no extra cost to you."
- • Affiliate links carry
rel="sponsored nofollow". - • We only join affiliate programmes for products we would recommend regardless of commission. We will not promote products solely for commercial reasons.
Standards we apply to partners
- • Must be UK-regulated where applicable (FCA, HMRC ASA, Information Commissioner's Office).
- • Must publish clear pricing and complaints procedures.
- • Must not use deceptive or pressure-selling tactics.
- • Refund agents we promote must comply with the post-2023 HMRC Raising Standards rules.
- • We will not promote payday loans, gambling products, cryptocurrency speculation, or unauthorised credit.
If you are an advertiser
Email partnerships@payslipiq.co.uk. We accept a small number of placements per quarter and review every prospective partner against the standards above. Minimum commercial terms available on request.
If you spot a missing disclosure
We rely on our team and our readers to catch any placement that is not labelled correctly. Email editorial@payslipiq.co.uk and we will fix or remove it within 24 hours and acknowledge it publicly.
