1. Who we are

PaySlipIQ Ireland (the “Service”) is operated by PaySlipIQ. The Service is a free Irish payslip checker that explains PAYE, USC, PRSI, pension, and tax credit deductions in plain English using Revenue 2026 rules.

2. Legal basis for processing

We process payslip data under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract you have requested by submitting a payslip for analysis) and Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests in operating, debugging, and securing the Service). For Irish users, the Data Protection Act 2018 supplements GDPR.

3. What we collect

  • The payslip image or text you submit (held in volatile memory only)
  • Optional email address if you ask us to email you a copy of the result
  • Standard server logs: IP address, user agent, timestamp, request size
  • Anonymous analytics (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity)

4. What we never collect

  • PPS numbers, PAN, passport details, or driving licence numbers
  • Bank account or IBAN details from the payslip body
  • Health, ethnicity, religious, or other special category data

5. Storage and retention

Payslip images are processed in memory and discarded once analysis completes in your browser. We do not write payslips to disk, do not back them up, and do not use them to train AI models. Server logs are retained for 30 days for security investigations and then deleted.

6. Sub-processors

  • Vercel Inc. (hosting, edge runtime)
  • Anthropic PBC (Claude AI for payslip analysis)
  • Upstash Inc. (Redis for rate limiting)
  • Google LLC (Analytics 4)
  • Microsoft Corporation (Clarity heatmaps)
  • Cloudflare (Turnstile bot challenge on contact form)
  • MailerLite (only if you opt-in to email reports)

Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models, but may retain inputs for up to 30 days for safety review under their Commercial Terms.

7. Your rights under GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure (right to be forgotten)
  • Object to processing or request restriction
  • Receive a copy of your data in portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission

The supervisory authority for Irish residents is the Data Protection Commission (DPC), 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28.

8. Article 22 (automated decision-making)

The payslip checker produces an explanation of your figures but does not make legally or significantly affecting decisions about you. The result is educational guidance only. Always confirm material concerns with your employer payroll team or Revenue myAccount.

9. International transfers

Some sub-processors may transfer data outside the EEA. Where this occurs, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and additional safeguards as required.

10. Cookies

See our Cookie Policy for full details on the cookies and similar technologies we use.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Contact

For privacy questions, email privacy@payslipiq.co.uk or write to PaySlipIQ Privacy Team. We respond to verified data subject requests within one calendar month.

13. Changes

Material changes to this policy will be announced on this page and via email if you have subscribed to updates.
