Editorial independence
Our writers, reviewers, and product team operate independently of the commercial team. No advertiser sees an article before publication, and no advertiser can request edits, removals, or reorderings. The only exception is a factual correction, which we welcome from anyone.
How sponsored content is labelled
- Any link that earns us a commission is tagged with a small Promoted badge directly next to the link, in the same font size as the link itself.
- Whole pages that are paid for in full carry a banner at the top reading Sponsored content. PayslipIQ is paid to publish this article.
- Comparison tables that include a paid placement carry a footnote saying which rows are paid and how the order was decided.
- Email newsletters call out promoted sections with a coloured side bar and the word Sponsored.
No algorithmic favouritism
Our recommendation engine and search functionality do not boost paid partners. The ranking signal is based on:
- Coverage match for the user query.
- Customer satisfaction scores from independent review platforms.
- Authorisation status with the Central Bank of Ireland or relevant regulator.
- Pricing transparency.
Whether a partner pays us or not has zero weight in the ranking.
ASAI compliance
We follow the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) Code, including the rules on identifying marketing communications, substantiating claims, and avoiding misleading comparative advertising. We update our internal guidance whenever ASAI issues a new opinion that touches our sectors.
Influencer and creator partnerships
When we work with social creators, the post must contain the platform native disclosure (#ad, Paid Partnership label, etc.) plus the words in partnership with PayslipIQ. Briefs forbid creators from claiming we provide tax or legal advice.
What our partners pay for
- Banner placements on selected pages, capped at 15% of viewport area.
- Inclusion in Promoted slots within comparison tables.
- Sponsored newsletter sections.
- Webinar and event sponsorship.
What partners cannot buy
- A higher score on our payroll health score, pension checker, or any other rating tool.
- Removal of negative reviews or commentary.
- The right to vet upcoming articles.
- Access to user payslip data, anonymised or otherwise.
Conflicts of interest
If a writer holds shares in, is employed by, or has a family relationship with a company we cover, that interest is declared at the bottom of the article. The Editor-in-Chief reviews any borderline case.
How to report concerns
If you spot an undisclosed affiliate link, an unlabelled sponsored section, or any other issue, email editorial@payslipiq.co.uk. We aim to respond within two working days, fix verified issues within five working days, and publish a quarterly transparency note listing what we changed.
