Employment Detail Summary (EDS)

7 min read, published 2026-04-29

## What the EDS is The Employment Detail Summary (EDS) is a year end statement showing all employment income reported to Revenue for an individual under PAYE Modernisation. It replaced the P60 from 2019 onward. The EDS is generated automatically by Revenue using payroll submissions filed by employers throughout the year. There is no paper form posted, employees access it through Revenue myAccount. ## What the EDS shows For each employment held during the year: - Employer name and registration number - Total gross pay - Total income tax (PAYE) - Total Universal Social Charge - Total PRSI - PRSI class - Number of weeks paid (PRSI insurable weeks) If you had multiple employments in the year, each is listed separately. ## How to access the EDS 1. Log in to Revenue myAccount 2. Click "Review your tax 2020 to 2026" 3. Select the relevant year 4. The EDS appears as a downloadable PDF The EDS for 2026 will be available from January 2027. Employers must complete final payroll submissions by 31 December for the data to be ready. ## What the EDS is used for - Loan applications: lenders accept it as proof of income - Visa or residency applications - Verifying tax credits and reliefs claimed - Reconciling year end position before filing Statement of Liability ## Difference from a payslip A payslip shows one pay period's earnings and deductions. The EDS aggregates all pay periods for the entire year. ## Difference from Statement of Liability The Statement of Liability (formerly P21) shows whether you have overpaid or underpaid tax overall, after considering all income and reliefs. The EDS shows only the employment income data filed by your employer. ## Discrepancies If your EDS shows incorrect figures, contact your employer first. They can amend payroll submissions to Revenue. If unresolved, raise it directly with Revenue's PAYE division. ## Educational notice This article is general guidance.
