UK / Take-home pay calculator

UK take-home pay calculator (2026/27)

A quick estimate of what lands in your bank each month. Uses public 2026/27 PAYE, NI and student-loan rules. Educational guidance only - verify with payroll or HMRC.

Editorially reviewed

The three arrangements produce three different payslips for the same contribution. Your payslip or scheme paperwork says which one you are on.

  • Period gross£3,000.00
  • PAYE− £365.70
  • National Insurance− £156.16
  • Pension− £124.00

Annual take-home estimate: £28,249.20 · £1,488.00 a year into the pension. Educational guidance only - verify with your payroll team or HMRC.

Assumes 5% of qualifying earnings (£6,240–£50,270) under a net-pay arrangement, so it comes out of gross pay before income tax but not before National Insurance.

Does your real payslip not match this estimate?

A calculator is generic. Your payslip is specific. Run a free PayslipIQ check on your actual figures to see where the gap is and what to ask payroll.

A written version is coming

The £19 Pro Report will be a PDF with the per-line explanation, anomaly flags, questions for payroll and verification steps - for a payroll query, a mortgage file or your own records. It has not launched; you can ask to be told when it does.

What to ask payroll next

Use these as starting points. PayslipIQ provides educational estimates only.

  • Is my tax code applied on a cumulative or Month-1 basis this period?
  • Have all P45 / P46 inputs from any previous job been processed?
  • Are taxable benefits in kind (BIK) included in my taxable pay this period?
  • Which pension scheme type am I in - net-pay, relief-at-source or salary sacrifice?

What this calculator does not do

  • Account for taxable benefits-in-kind (BIK) reported via P11D.
  • Model year-to-date or non-cumulative (W1/M1) coding - it assumes a full year on the code you enter.
  • Check your pension against the annual allowance, or advise on whether to sacrifice. It shows what each arrangement does to one year's pay, nothing more.
  • Replace your real payslip - for that, run a free PayslipIQ check.
